Why we started
"Free" is the most powerful word in games, and the least precise. Two games can both cost £0 to download and be completely different deals: one sells only outfits, the other sells the fastest route to winning. Store pages rarely spell out the difference.
Thefreetag exists to spell it out. Each game gets a receipt listing what's free, what's optional and what's actively sold, plus three meters for pay-to-win, grind and shop pressure.
Who we are
Thefreetag is published by Tagline Studio Ltd, Manchester, United Kingdom. We are independent: no publisher, platform or store pays us or sees our receipts before they go live.
How we are funded
The site carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored content. If that ever changes, it will be stated clearly on this page and on every affected page.
What we are not
We are not a shop and we don't sell games, currency or accounts. We never link to key resellers or unofficial currency sellers.
